Prayer Letter
July/September 2011
Aloha & Hafa Adai! Church family and friends,
|
We praise the Lord for your faithful prayers and financial
support; many of you have been with us since June of 1985
when we surrendered to God's will to minister among the
native Hawaiian people of Hawaii. Over the years many of you
have felt the burden God gave us and began supporting us,
some as recently as March 2011. To all of our supporters and
prayer warrior's we humbly express our thanks and
appreciation. It is with this complement that we request
your prayers and support for us as we are on deployment to
the island of Guam. The work in Waianae, HI as well as our
sending church in Tulsa, OK, is in full support spiritually,
prayerfully and financially as we deployed last month.
Deployment, a military term, implies the intent is to be
gone for a certain period of time and than return. Such is
our case as Rob and Berverly Rehkemper will continue to lead
Kahikolu Baptist Church in Hawaii until our return. Amen! |
| The move to Guam was costly because
we wanted all of our ministry tools available for us to
minister. God provided as we are now settling in to a rental
home, Rubi is loving it because we haven't been in a home
(alone) on a regular basis for several years. Eventhough
many of our things were lost to rat and mice infestation,
God has provided us with all the necessities of a home.
Amen! |
| We are in need of repairing our
1999 passenger van; it needs a brake job, tires, inspection
sticker and registration is due. The estimated cost is $1000
dollars. As mail has been catching up with us the medical
bills are due totalling $750 from back in 2010. Rubi just
today is completing blood work for a probable infection; she
feels much better today. We are still facing high cost of
living here milk is $10 a gallon gas is $4.68 a gallon.
Could you help us? Amen! |
The
exciting news is in the past 5 weeks since we arrived there
has been a total of 11 souls saved in church services; one
of whom Rubi led to the Lord on the phone. This couple was
baptized last Sunday; electrician by trade, Mike is
providing his skill to the church already as we add lights
to an outdoor pavilion. We will host "Ignite the Night" for
the community; presentation of the gospel will be given
through our puppet show. Pray for our new
believers class, women's ministries and addiction's program.
The need here is great as souls are lost and hopeless
without Christ.
We are your missionaries to the
island people of the Pacific. We are your extension of
ministry to the lost. Because you have sent us to minister,
we will go, no matter what the cost, we will work. Will you
help us, will you continue to give, will you co-labor with
us?
Serving the Lord together, E.L. & Rubi Kaeo |
