Let us take you to the other side of Hawaii that you possibly are not aware of - where their only option is to live on the beach because of the high cost of living. There is a high rate of drug addiction among adults as well as youth. Many live on sectioned homestead land where they have to be 50% or more Hawaiian ethnic background to live. The people are similar to Native Indians who live on reservations.

Weekly Report

August 24, 2008

Dear Friends,

Aloha, We have been busy in and out of churches opening the eyes of many people for the need of Bible believing churches in the islands. We have expressed our concern for the need of financial backing for ourselves and the raising of a meeting place for the people of Kahikolu Baptist Church. It's time! We are trusting the Lord for His mighty hands to help us build and to raise the funds for us to return.

Previous Travels

Our travels though OK & MO churches left us in great awe! How marvelous, how wonderful is our God that He would touch the hearts of so many people around the world with the preaching of His Word. It's such a blessing to see them kneeling at the altar, asking to be used and to remove obstacles that will hinder us to serve Him better. We are filled with ammunition each time as we leave God's people, who let us know that God is still alive and well. God bless you all!

Praise News

Our God shall supply all our needs and praise Him - He has done just that! Our Lord has not only taken care of us mentally, physically, & financially, but spiritually. Heatheridge Baptist gave $400 toward our car loan. Other churches gave love and encouragement and prayers to go forward trusting God will provide.
Our need for eye exams and new glasses was met by a member of a loving church. We've got them on now - we can see! Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso, OK, provided the means to solve the ongoing problems we had with our power point presentation. It's going on DVD, so we will be able to leave a copy with new pastors. Amen! $1,000 was given to the land building fund. God bless you folks of Owasso for giving to the Lord.

Special Needs And Prayer Requests

We recovered from the sinus problems and colds, and thought we were well on our way to a great recovery, only to be attacked by what could be a very serious problem for my wife. Rubi is having ongoing excruciating pain shooting alongside her bottom left jawbone, toward the middle of her face, making her unable to speak or eat, or even smile, without pain. We have been to a dentist and oral surgeon only to find out it's a nerve problem - trigeminal neuralgia. Now we are on our way to a neurologist. Extra- strength motrin or tylenol does not relieve any of the pain. Please be in prayer - Rubi is saddened by this thorn in the flesh Paul spoke of.

Our needs still pending: Our deputation car loan was $7,000 - now at $6,600. Pray that churches who are wanting to support us, will be able to soon. Pray that the financial needs for deputation travels will continually be supplied. Pray that the building funds for Kahikolu Baptist Church will grow.
